The country is gradually gaining international recognition for its excellent tailoring, refined beachwear, and modern basics, and the Resort 2023 season did not disappoint. As indicated by their use of local materials and production, many Australian designers are adopting a proactive approach to sustainability and ethical procedures.
At this season's Afterpay Australian Fashion Week, designer Alix Higgins debuted his first solo catwalk presentation, which featured his signature colorful designs as well as beautifully embellished standout ensembles. Higgins' concert was one of the most anticipated this season, with a burgeoning fanbase in Australia, and it did not disappoint.
"The focus was obviously on broadening the brand's vision and providing something that was both fresh and difficult for me." Rather than doing what I enjoy, I aim to push myself with each collection. "I despise polka dots, so I had to do polka dots; I despise lime green, so I had to do lime green," Higgins says of the collection.
